Quick start guide helps you set up live chat and help center

Who can use this feature?

Chatty is a platform that helps Shopify users engage with their customers better.

After installing Chattyfrom Shopify App Store, you can get access to app in Shopify admin.

We'll cover the basics & introduce some key features. Here are 5 steps to get your store ready with Chatty.

Enable app

Chatty helps show a chatbox on your store front so you need to enable app in your theme editor.

  1. In app dashboard, click Enable app

  2. You're redirected to theme editor

  3. Enable Chatty in App embed and click Save

Set up FAQs

1. Build FAQs hub

Who can use this feature?

  • This feature is available for all users

First, you need to build questions and answers hub for your customers.

  1. In "Set up FAQs", click Go to settings

  2. You're redirected to FAQs page.

2. Create FAQs page

Show a page of FAQs on your Shopify site

  1. In "Set up an FAQs page", click Go to settings

  2. You're redirected to FAQ page

  3. Click Turn on FAQs page and edit content and style

3. Add FAQs block

You can show FAQs list in any page of your store.

  1. Go to FAQs -> Click FAQs block

  2. Click Set up display. You will be redirect to theme editors, where you can add and edit FAQs to your store.

  3. Go to page you want to add FAQs block -> Click Add block or Add section -> Search and add Chatty FAQs block

  4. Customize your FAQs block in the right panel settings.

  5. Click Save.

Set up live chat

1. Enable live chat

  1. Make sure you turn on Chatbox. (Go to Chatbox -> In "General", click Turn on chatbox)

  2. In "Blocks", turn on Live chat

2. Customize your chatbox appearance

After creating questions hub, you can show question in your store front in chatbox.

  1. In "Customize your chatbox appearance", click Go to settings

  2. You're redirected to Chatbox

  3. Click turn on to show chatbox on your store front

  4. Customize your chatbox to fit your site

3. Connect channels

Connecting other channels to manage all conversations in Chatty.

  1. Go to Channels -> Click Manage

  2. Click Connect email and add your email

  3. After adding your email, you need to verify email to get emails in Chatty inbox. Follow our instruction to finish connecting emails. Instruction will vary on different email providers: Gmail, Outlook, Others.

4. Install mobile app

With Chatty mobile app, you can answer customer questions anytime, anywhere from your devices.

In app dashboard, click Install mobile app in Setup guide. Or go to Settings -> Notifications -> Click Download now.

  1. Scan QR code with your device

  2. With each device and web browser, you can have different ways to set up Chatty mobile app. In overall, follow these steps to set up

    • Scan and go to link

    • In browser settings, click "Add to home screen"

    • Add Chatty app to homescreen as an app
