AI skill is a set of specialized capabilities that help your AI assistant handle specific customer scenarios.

Think of skills as training modules that teach your AI how to respond to different types of customer questions, from product recommendations to support requests.

When you enable AI skills, AI assistant can:

  • Recommend products based on customer preferences

  • Provide accurate size guidance

  • Handle common support scenarios automatically

  • Transfer conversations to your team when needed

How to set up AI skills

🅰️ Smart recommendations

You can manage which products AI recommends as best sellers and new arrivals.

Chatty provides two pre-built collections that AI uses for recommendations:

  1. Bestseller: Products AI suggests when customers ask, "What's popular?" or "What do others buy?"

  2. New arrival: Products AI suggests when customers ask, "What's new?" or "Any new items?"

  3. Sales promotion: Products AI suggests when customers ask about "discounts", "deals", or "what's on sale?"

  4. Special occasions: Products AI suggests when customers ask about "gifts", "birthday presents", or mention special events

What is smart syncing (auto)?

By default, Chatty automatically does the following for Best sellers and New arrivals:

  • Select top 20 products based on sales from the last 30 days

  • Update the list daily

You can combine auto-selection with your manual choices by:

  • Activate smart sync

  • Add/remove manually products from the list

This means: Your recommendation will be updated daily with new products while remaining your manual choices. (maximum 20 products/collection)

How to set up smart recommendations:

  1. Click Smart recommendations

  2. Select a collection to manage

  3. Set up product list and keywords (custom recommendations)

  4. Click Add product to add products

  5. Click Delete to remove products from the list

  6. Click Save and activate the recommendation

🅱️ Size guide

Size guide helps customers find the right fit and reduces returns.

  1. Go to AI assistant

  2. Click Configure agents in Agent instructions

  3. Click Manage next to size guide

  4. Add your size guide (JPG and PNG, max 5MB)

  5. Select which product your size guide applies to

  6. Add Instructions (if needed)

  7. Turn on the toggle to use size guide

What is the instruction of AI in size guide for?

In the instruction field, tell your AI how to handle size questions. For example:

"If no size guide is found, it means you don't know the size guide information for this product. do not invent or assume any size guide details."

This instruction prevents your AI from generating incorrect sizing information.

Customer support skills

These skills are enabled by default to help AI handle common support scenarios:

  • Transfer: when customers request human support

Transfer
  • Refund-return: When customers ask about after-sales issues, AI will send a form and ask the customer to submit a request.

  • Order tracking: When customers ask about order status, AI will check customer info and send tracking information right in chat.
